Bright, a short drive, easy to navigate - check, check and check – Erin Mills Town Centre offers Oakville parents all of this and more!
This past Saturday morning with my two girls in tow I went for a stroll of the newly renovated Erin Mills Town Centre. Given its distance from our home in Oakville, a short 15-minute drive, it proved to be a bit of a hidden gem for me. I’ll admit this was my first visit to this mall and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of stores, the ease of navigating the layout and open, bright, airy feel the centre provided on what was a rainy, overcast day.
We’re about to head on a much needed, oh so needed, beach getaway this coming week and I was able to check off some last-minute trip essentials at the Walmart, a large two level store with grocery occupying the entire lower level, Old Navy and Shoppers Drug Mart. Our favourite find, matching poodle Spring coats for both girls from Carter’s Osh Kosh – they’re still of the age where dressing the same is fun 😊
Once the “must-pick-ups” where taken care of, we strolled about, stopping for many toddling practice sessions for my youngest girl. (parent-tip: a mall offers a nice, level surface for a toddler to practice their steps).
When the cries for lunch began, we headed over to the newly revamped food court to check out what was on offer. Jimmy the Greek, A&W, New York Fries, Thai Express, Fit for Life, Subway and KFC/Taco Bell, plus a number of specialty spots including Freshii, The Fresh Tea Shop and Pretzelmaker/Mrs. Fields round out a nice variety to please even the pickiest of palates plus one of my personal favourites, David’s Tea – delish!
Perhaps I have a bit of pre-trip anxiety going on (will for sure forget to pack something important) but the food court reminds me of a new airport terminal. Its large, expansive windows along one entire side offer so much light into the space that you’re immediately drawn in.
Erin Mills Town Centre offers parents a welcome alternative to the often crowded, tricky to find your bearings shopping experience other destinations can be known for.
