How many of you reading this can say you have over 1,000+ photos stored on your phone? Yes! (raises hand), I'm also one of those parents; however I can say that I have been trying diligently this past year to print actual photos and then place those photos in albums - just typing that feels like alot of work and an extra task I'm adding to my long, oh so long, to-do list, but I do believe it's an important one.
Growing up my parents had countless photos albums marking all the important milestones in our lives - birthdays, family vacations, swims in our pool, new pets, etc. We'd flip through them throughout the years and even to this day, I still remember the smell of those albums, a mix of leather and paper.
Fast forward to today, and while I do have a few albums, I'm often on the hunt for unique ways to capture and share our family's memories. Enter Luhvee Books. A super easy, software program where you follow a template, upload your own photos and write your own story. "We start the sentence, you add the love" - is their tagline and it's very true to form. They've taken the photo book building process and kicked it up a notch by providing you with a story where all you need to do is fill in the blanks and add your favourite snaps.
They offer a few templates including one you'd create for a significant other, one for your child, your teenager, Mom, Dad or Grandparent.
I chose to build a Luhvee book for my oldest daughter. I wanted to share with her a story all about her, something she can hold onto for years to come and flip through. When her sister arrived on the scene two years ago, she often felt second fiddle to the demands of a newborn and now the tornado of a toddler so I wanted to have a special surprise arrive in the mail just for her, a surprise all about her and this book was perfect. The final product, a four chapter book, turned out amazing - a hardcover with quality printing and photos that maintained sharp images.
We read it immediately after opening and her smile broadened with each page turn. My favourite chapter was the final one, entitled: Things to Always Remember and more specially the line "You've taught us.... " to which I filled in "how to be Parents". Oh the tears....
Thank you Luhvee Books for helping me create a beautiful memory and a beautiful book she can always hold onto.
