We welcomed back local Realtor Daniella Quattrociocchi to share her top picks in Kerr Village, a growing neighbourhood with several must-visit shops, cafes and restaurants. Happy touring!
Maro’s Bistro: You may have driven by Maro’s Bistro and not even noticed this hidden gem. A former pita and Burrito joint, this casual family restaurant sits between Rebecca and Lakeshore, and features authentic Middle Eastern dishes that Maro himself has crafted through family traditions and recipes. Picky eaters? He’ll custom make a meal for your little ones!
Elm Hill Cookies: True story – I heard about this delicious cookie shop even before I moved here, and it did not disappoint. They custom make cookies, and trays for special occasions. But I like to pop in for a Kerr Street cookie and a delicious Ily coffee.
Farmhouse Artisan Cheese: As my thighs will tell you – I love cheese. This not so little shop features a gorgeous selection of high quality cheeses, charcuterie/cured meats and specialty home items. Take home a special Merlot cheese or Italian salami as a special treat, or have them create a beautiful gift for a friend. This is a must stop on Kerr.
Marbled Premium Meats: Technically just off Kerr on Lakeshore, this gem was shared with me by a friend, who heard from a friend, who heard from another, and so on, and so on. Hiding in plain sight, this boutique butcher has amazing 100% free range local meats, with a serious farm to table mantra. The best part? He cooks the food for you for free if you ask.
Kerr Street Café: An ideal brunch spot (that now serves dinner Wednesdays to Saturday), this trendy café has a great atmosphere and Brothers Coffee. Highly recommend the scones. Check out their catering options as well!
Kerr Village is a growing neighbourhood, centrally located close to downtown Oakville, minutes to the QEW and Go Transit services.
If you or a friend is considering a move to the Kerr Street area, Oakville or Burlington, send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org, and I would be happy to chat about the different neighbourhoods.
